It was nine p.m. Gabriela, after kissing her parents and siblings, went to her room and lay on her bed. But first, she took a little doll, a bunny, and a teddy bear and tucked herself in with them to say her prayers, as she did every night. It was raining, and the water lapping at her window lulled her to sleep. She slowly fell asleep and began to dream. She saw herself walking along a path lined with trees, which was unfamiliar.

A sense of peace made her little heart beat happily, as she walked through it. Soon she came upon a beautiful garden, filled with beautiful, fragrant flowers, colorful butterflies, cheerful birds singing, and a charming little house. Gabriela knocked softly on the door, and a sweet, slow voice was heard inside. Come in! Gabriela entered timidly, observing that everything was very humble inside, but of impecable cleanliness, illuminated by a beacon of light. Next to a place, where the llamas were dancing happily, sat two little old ladies, of sweet looks, and kind faces, who asked her simultaneously:

“Who are you, little girl? Do you have a family?“

“I am Gabriela,” she answered. “I have two little brothers. My mother is very kind and my father is the upholsterer of the town. And who are you?”

“Well,  I am Charity,” said one of them, ”and my sister is Humility. We are almost as old as the world!”

“Oh, if you’re that old, you must be famous and have many friends!” Gabriela said more confidently.

“You’re wrong, dear girl. Despite being so old, very few people know us!”

“That’s weird,” said the girl, “why don’t people know you?”

“Two enemies won’t let us enter many hearts or visit their homes.”

“Who are they?” asked the little girl in astonishment.

“They are Selfishness and Pride, with all their offsprings, vanity, indifference, and so many others. But you can help us so that more doors will open for us to enter.”

“What can I do?”

“Go and tell your little brothers and all your little friends, as you will also do, that every night they should think of Jesus, learn his teachings and ask God in their prayers to allow us to visit the homes of the whole world little by little, so that it may become better and better!“

At that moment, Gabriela woke up. She would never forget that beautiful dream, nor would she forget the task she had been given. What do you think, friends? Shall we help Gabriela?
